Spouse visa- Help with application

Post by User001 » Tue May 28, 2019 8:01 pm

Hi,

I am torn between doing the application myself or entrusting a lawyer to do so. I meet the financial requirements and other stuff, but I am not sure who gets to send the documents (Myself or the wife). I appreciate it if someone who went through the application puts it in a step-by-step sort of guideline.

Thank you in advance.

Useful to state where your spouse will be applying from.

Hello,

1. Make sure you have all the supporting documents to hand ensuring everything is in order (including your spouse's English Test Certificate, TB Test Certificate and photocopies of her Passport).
2. Make sure you have £3,000 - £3,100 in the account, you'll be paying the fees by a debit card.
3. Fill out the online application.
4. Pay the two fees after the online application is completed.
5. Book a biometrics appointment for your wife to attend.
6. What'sApp or e-mail the online application and the appointment letter in the PDF format along with e-mails from Visa4UK to your spouse. Have these printed out in Tunisia.

7. You spouse will need to take the appointment letter, online application, e-mails from Visa4UK and the passport to the visa centre.

8. After the biomemtrics appointment, make two photocopies of the documentation. One photocopy pack to be sent to Sheffield along with the originals (or have them scanned if you selected a VFS Centre) and the other photocopy pack is for your safe keeping. Also send a blank self-address envelope so they can return the documentation to yourself.

Thank you Jhelumi ever so much for your reply.

Just two follow up questions.

1- I bought a new build house (with the help of a mortgage of course). Would I still need housing inspection report?

2- There is a possibility that I move jobs, and thus cities and houses, while the application under consideration. how is that going to play out? hence the HO would most likely contact current employer and find out I'm moving/moved jobs, would the HO ask for a proof of a new accommodation in the new place for instance?

I realise the latter is a hypothetical scenario, but maybe someone on here had been through something similar.

Thank you

1. If there is no unrelated adult living in property then no.

2. Better to stay at same job & accommodation until the application gets approved.

Hello,

1. I always say yes to be on the safe side. Why risk £3,000 for a report that cost around £40 - £70.

2. As seagul has suggested.

It won't be needed as OP bought new home.

I agree. I probably won't need inspection report.

Also, I might postpone the application if the new job is too good to miss. it is only 6 months.

I am seeing an immigration lawyer next week and will see what the advice is.

Best

you don't need to wait 6 months after starting new job -- you can apply under category B after having just one payslip as long as you meet the conditions (i.e. new job pays above the requirement and b) you earned more than the required amount in the previous 12 months)

Thank you taffet87, I did not know about category B. I probably should familiarise myself with the appendix.

or

https://visas-immigration.service.gov.uk

why HO is confusing and complicating things?

Help is needed please.

(1) I used my email address to start my wife's application on, which shows up in her personal details. is that ok?

(2) Is or was this an arranged marriage? So we were introduced, as it often happens, to one another by family so I guess this is considered "arranged marriages" to the HO. Do I need to elaborate more in the additional information section?

Thank you in advance
