That’s a good news actually. At least they have finished all checks on your application, and your application is now waiting to be signed off.
It means you just have to wait patiently for this to happen.

What’s the meaning of all this after more than two years of waiting! !

I have a friend, who got his approval within 6 months and had his ceremony on April 29th 2019 now an IRISH Citizen, told me not to disturb them with phone calls and emails or even letters, that that can provoke or frustrate any person in charge. And that might show that am desperate to get the citizenship.
So I should limit the number of times I get in touch with office with phone calls or emails?
Can this cause a delay on my application once they notice how desperate I am?
Anyone with needed on information on this. Could this be true?
I just dont want to do anything that will jeopardize all my efforts after waiting for almost 2 years.
Anyone with suggested update on this or what I should do?

That is utter nonsense.

The person who updates you over the phone/email is just a customer services agent. They don't have any influences over your application. I called them almost every week between January and April. I got my approval without any issue.

(I heard that they don't even record any phone calls but I cannot confirm whether it's true.)

Every application has a processing team and a caseworker. The caseworker is the main person that prepares for your file. Once everything is in order, they send it to their supervisor for sign-off, and then submit it to the minister (with a recommended outcome I'd guess).

I rang them from April 2018 until April 2019, continuously every other week haha I wouldnt worry about that, to be honest.

The process is just frustrating. A friend also send me a message to say his sister got approval last week and she was told to pay the €950. That means she might be included in this month's unconfirmed small ceremony.
Also as I was told, she applied October last year.

I don’t know where she got that information from but all I know is that keep calling them every week and if possible send them registered mails and emails! They will eventually get fade up and will get back to u!

I tried calling them today from exactly 10 am till 11:55 am no luck. I was trying to both numbers 1890.... and 06232... After ringing for some minutes says "The number you have dialed is incorrect check the number and dial again". Is this a normal behaviour.
Anyone with a similar experience?

Yes it is the normal behaviour. That stupid message is basically their "voicemail".
And also it is normal that you call for 2 hours and couldn't get through. Happened to me quite a few times for me in the past as well. It's all luck.

I rang them from 10am to 12pm no response, I don’t know what’s going on with that office!
This people are really treating us unfairly! The system is so bias! More than 150 calls no response!

He is originally from Pakistan and applied based on Stamp 1 + Stamp 4 (6 years of residence in Ireland at the time of application)

Do you know if they have asked for GNIB card back . Otherwise he will not be able to travel till sept unless they are planning another small ceremony

You can travel without a GNIB (or IRP as it's now known), as long as you have your approval letter.

They have asked for the GNIB/IRP but not given any timeframe to send the documents in. Usually they state in the approval letter that you need to return the documents in XX number of days but this is not the case for my friend. I asked him the same question.

In any case, my understanding is that he can still travel if he has a valid re-entry visa and carries his approval letter with him. 2 years ago, a similar thing had happened with me as I had to travel immediately after my citizenship ceremony and I didn't have either an Irish passport or GNIB but I was able to travel based on a valid re-entry visa along with Stamp 6 on my passport which stated that I had received Irish citizenship. I also carried my citizenship certificate with me. The INIS helpline had actually been helpful with me in this regard at that time and they told me what I needed to do to travel without a GNIB after getting citizenship but before getting Irish passport.

My concern is that with the abolishment of re-entry visas, some airlines may not admit a person on a plane if they don’t have a GNIB card or re-entry visa. In my case I was travelling by Aer Lingus primarily without check-in luggage, so they never got the chance to check whether I have a GNIB/re-entry. In the case of Ryanair, or essentially any airline if you are going to check in your luggage, this might be a problem, because an approval letter means nothing to them, and I’m not sure if the stamp on your passport alone will allow you to travel.

Yes true that, it happened to me immigration office literally will look at your name on your passport and look it up on their computer "System", everything is stored there and no need to show up any letter or cards.

As well as, Aerlingus is decent , they wont check even with check in luggage (Maybe I was lucky but they never ask) and with letter you can go through I believe. Ryanair will ask for the card but I believe you can still argue about it

Unfortunately I was unlucky, I received a letter today "24th June" as well stating "Your application has now been initally assessed and has proceeded to the second stage of processing. Your application is being processed with a view to establishing wethere you meet the staturtory conditions for the granting naturalisation and will be submitted to the Minister for decision bla bla bla "

Applied Nov 2017 ... I know that being in second stage mean nothing but at least it gave me a hope that they looked at my application eventually
