Maternity Allowence

Post by Saeedjansaeed » Mon Jun 10, 2019 9:54 am

Hi All
I got my ilr on lr couple of months
I have still not changed my dependent visa to ilr dependent
My baby is due in aug
Questions
1 what is the deadline to change my dependents status to ilr depenedent
2 is she allowed for maternity allownce, if so would it count towards benefits or not because i have to chnage her route any time soon and have to show 18600 income combined as mine and her.
3 she is employed atm but will be less than 6 months by due date with current employer, so she cant be eligible for smp...
4 keeping in mind her extension and income proof of 18600, please reply to muly query as i dont want to get in trouble at extension of hers if something is counted towards claiming benefits.
Many thanx in advance

I think you are talking about maternity pay which is not from public funds. Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) is paid for up to 39 weeks. You get:
90% of your average weekly earnings (before tax) for the first 6 weeks
£148.68 or 90% of your average weekly earnings (whichever is lower) for the next 33 weeks

SMP is paid in the same way as your wages (for example monthly or weekly). Tax and National Insurance will be deducted.

If she hasn't been with her employer from at least 26 weeks then she may not eligible. Some employers still pays that, check her contract or ask again from employer if they offer.

Hi
Yes she is definetly less than 26 weeks, and employer will.not pay
Now can this be claimed from govt
If so how?
And if claimed how will it look like at the time of extension, like benefits public funds etc.

Many thanx again

You are repeating same despite being answered previously that its not public fund but unfortunately your wife isn't eligible for it. However, if you are a self employed businessman and she is helping you without getting getting paid then she may get £27 per week for 14 weeks. Again its not public fund and won't affect her extension.
