How to cancel Tier 2 visa after the employer liquidised by court?

Post by volcano76 » Sat Jun 15, 2019 4:36 pm

Hi all,
I was employed by a start-up company and started working in the UK since 2016, however, the company didn't do well and eventually liquidised by the court after one year, as a result not able to pay the supplier. I was then returned to my own country with the assumption that the company will cancel the work visa for me and I was wrong, recently I just found up that the work visa is still not being canceled after 1 year, simply because the company is already closed down and the owner is not even contactable.
My question is:
1) How do I cancel my work visa on my own? Can I get some agent to do it for me?
2) Any impact in the future if I leave it as it is? assuming the visa will no longer be valid after it expired in the next 1 year?

Thanks,
Regards

Your visa is almost certainly cancelled if the company was liquidated. The only reason it would not be cancelled would be because the liquidator did not inform the Home Office.

If you want to inform the Home Office yourself you need the entry from Company House showing the insolvency details.
If you have left the UK for over a year then your cooling off period has passed and you can apply for a tier 2 again.
