IHS refund

Post by Smitcel » Sun Mar 31, 2019 8:52 am

I had Tier 2 visa already till oct 2020 but I order to change the employer, I applied for Tier 2 change of employment and payed whopping £800 ( increased IHS) in Feb 2019. I was waiting for IHS refund for over 6 weeks no news. So contacted UKVI then they said they will look into it. After a week I get reply saying partial refund has been made which is only £200. Now I don’t know how did they calculate that ? Coz during my initial visa I paid health surcharge (validity Oct’ 20) and during change of employment I had to pay again as a part of application. So I was expecting £800 refund but they only gave me £200. What should I do ? Contact UKVI for justification? Please help me out :(

You got a partial refund of the previous Ihs not the new Ihs you were required to pay when you applied for change of emoyer.

Hi,
I am in a same situation, changed employer and ended up paying 1600 pounds for two years, where I have already paid for tier 2 valid until 2020 but when I changed employer last month I did pay again only thing is got covered till April

Since I applied from Inside UK, while contacting UKVI only phone line is available where they said I need to write a letter to address f I'm where I got my BRP

This sounds stupid to me, could you please help me out how did you approached for refund?

Thank you,
Santosh K

Hi all! I've been waiting for a partial IHS refund as well and it's been ages. I phoned UKVI about this for a few times already and still no progress. They also asked me to just write a letter to their office address. Does anyone know how the refund is issued btw? Do they issue it right back to the payment card, or through a cheque? Thanks.
