Travelling abroad and re-entering UK during 60 day notice period

Post by Nass23 » Sat Jun 29, 2019 4:55 pm

Hello
My last day on the job is end of July. My employer will inform HO . I will get 60 day notice period.
I have a tier 2 general visa with sponsorship from the company.
I have to travel to france around 1st of September for a week and come back to UK.
Is that ok ? Am I ok to come back to UK during the 60 day notice period and continue to look for other jobs?

I have read many different answers and I got confused .
Thank you for reading.

What 60 days notice period are you talking about if you leave your job at the end of July??

Are you confusing the curtailment period with what you call notice period??

My HR told me that i get 60 days period after receiving the letter from Home Office. Which might take weeks to months.
But can I re-enter the UK if I exit for a week or so. After end of July when the HR informa the home office that I'm no longer employed?
Thank you

You should not travel out the UK once you leave your sponsor. Your risk being refused re entry as the purpose of your visa has changed. If you are refused re-entry, you will be subject to the 12 months cooling off period before you can return.

Note also that when HO become aware that you have left the UK, they can cancel your visa and not notify you.

Thanks for your reply.
So technically I will no longer be sponsored by the employer once they inform Home office? And the 60 day curtailment period cannot be used to travel for a week and come back then?
I just want to be sure. If anyone had a similar experience. But thanks a lot for bringing this risk to my awareness.

Correct yes, your sponsorship ends on your last day of employment.

Some have been lucky to get back into the UK but mostly they have had a UCoS assigned and ready to apply for change of sponsor visa.
