Spouse visa - Left UK before getting an answer

Post by Balibrown » Wed Jul 03, 2019 7:10 am

Hi there, I apologize if this has been asked before. I am legally married to my husband in UK end of May 19. Then I applied for spouse visa early June 19 from inside UK, had biometrics done on June 7. Because of work commitments I had to fly home to Malaysia few days ago.

Will it be possible for me to fly back to UK next month for our wedding ceremony, with a visitor visa? Is it true, the moment I left UK, my visa application is considered withdrawn, and I’ll be denied entry next time?

Worried sick

What visa did you have to marry in the UK?

Assuming you were not in the UK with a visitor visa to marry, you should have applied for the spouse visa using the super priority sevice for a quicker decision if you had travel commitments.

Probably not and you cannot change to a spouse visa within the UK if you are in the UK as a visitor.

Yes it is likely considered withdrawn. You will also likely lose the visa fee you have paid.
