Tier 2 Dependent Extension BRP

My husband is waiting his BRP following tier 2 dependent visa extention. His current BRP expire on 28/08/2019. We have a crisis situation at home country and need to go urgently. Can he go with his current BRP. We can arrange to collect his BRP when it arrive.
Please advise.

Has his extension been approved yet or are you still waiting for visa approval??

When did he apply for his extension?
