ORIGINAL PAYSLIPS, ARE THEY NEEDED ANY MORE?

Post by goodlife12 » Wed Jul 24, 2019 11:28 am

Hello All
In the process of applying for my wife's spouse visa and after reading that sending original documents to Sheffield is no longer available and all documents go to a visa centre to be scanned and sent directly to the Home Office for processing.
My question is about the original payslips;
Do I need to take the sealed originals with me to be scanned or I should photocopy them before attending on an A4 paper each and leave the originals at home?

Do the staff at that centre need to check original copies of payslips, bank statements etc?

I receive my payslips electronically, however these were stamped with my employers stamp, certified to be a true copy of the original AND signed. In the letter from my employer also noted that they were issued electronically online, authentic and issued by (insert payroll provider here). These were scanned at VFS London.

I am in no way an expert and I am still waiting for my visa decision to be made but I would say photocopy them on A4 as VFS guidelines state "All documents presented must be legible, not crumpled and no smaller than A4 in size. Items which are smaller than A4 should always be copied onto another A4 sheet of paper to ensure the evidence meets the requirements " and still ask your employer to stamp/certify them.

I was not asked for any original documents whilst scanning at VFS London.

Hope this helps in some way.

Thank you so much Smithy101

So basically you confirming they don't ask for any originals at the centre anymore??
So i can only take my documents as photocopies on A4 pages then?

Yes, copy all documents that aren't on A4 paper (eg. passports - in colour, wage slips etc).

The VFS website states "You can also submit photocopies you have made yourself, but they must be clear and legible". https://www.vfsglobal.co.uk/jp/en/sitec ... -documents

I went to the VFS office late June and was not asked for a single original document. I just made sure everything was on A4 paper. Plus given that you can self-upload I would not see the point in them requesting to see an original anyway.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience
Still not sure if we still need a letter from the employer to confirm the electronic payslips are authentic if no originals needed to be seen at the VFS centre.

Employer letter

Post by goodlife12 » Tue Jul 30, 2019 3:40 pm

Hello everyone

Could anyone confirm if ( payroll administrator ) could be sufficient person to sign the employer letter for UK SPOUSE VISA? I understand from reading the rules it says ( a senior member ) and our HR manager doesn't really write any letters in my company.

Yes.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
