TIER 2 visa expired, returning to UK after as a tourist?

Dear Immigration,

My tier 2 visa currently expires at 14th of August 2019, which i am completing my job at 31st of july, but require to take my exams in 27th of september this year. Can i leave the UK between 1st to 14th of august, to my country malaysia, then return to the UK at september, as a tourist, to stay there for 3 months, in order to sit my exams? Is it possible?
