HELP! Tier 2 Granted - Is my Tier 5 Cancelled?

Tier 2 (General) has been granted, however has not started yet (starts August 16th 2019).
Previously on Tier 5 (YMV), but has not actually expired yet.

Back in the UK, what visa am I here on?

Has my Tier 5 been cancelled, as soon as my Tier 2 was granted? Or will it be cancelled when my Tier 2 starts?

Am I still on my Tier 5, or am I in the UK on a tourist visa at the moment? (Entered through e-gate).

Very likely yes as you cannot hold two visas at the same time.

You need to have entered the UK on your Tier 2 to 'activate' it and have the visa vignette stamped, which needs to be presented to the Post Office when you collect your BRP card.

Hopefully no issues as entering on a visitor visa status often cancels out other visas.

I guess the main issue was whether can work for the next 2 weeks. Guess not, since I'm probably on a visitor visa the moment.

Is there any documentation somewhere that talks about how one visa cancels the other?
