Sending spouse visa applications to Sheffield

Post by Jhelumi » Thu Jul 18, 2019 11:29 am

Hello,

There's a lot of confusion whether new applications for spouse visas (Entry Clearance / Leave to Remain) are to be sent to the Sheffield office or they need to be scanned and uploaded at one of the VFS Centres for a £75 fee.

I can confirm that an application that was sent to the Sheffield office at the beginning of May 2019 has been accepted, processed and visa granted.

Applications which appear to have been returned as reported by members on this forum are where the applicants while filling in their applications on the Visa4UK website, opted to use the services of the "Commercial Partner" while at the same time sent the documents to the Sheffield Office.

If you don't want to scan the documents then please don't use the "Register at Commercial Partner" when filling in the information on the Visa4UK website.

This is at least true for initial applications where the spouse has not arrived in the UK yet.

If anyone has any official confirmation of change to this policy, please do share.

Thanks

May I ask which address you mailed your documents to in Sheffield? I see two circulating, and some say the po box has been closed.

Thank you.

Thank you for your reply. I am applying from the US. I know some Asian countries have to use the VFS centers as of July 31. My husband (sponser) is mailing the application, my passport, biometrics and supporting documents from within the UK. I'm not using the scanning services. I hope everything goes smoothly for you. :-)

Just wanted to add, I sent documents to the Sheffield PO Box 3468 address, a few days later, I got the following email.

IMPORTANT MUST READ
Supporting Documents for Settlement Applications
We have recently received supporting documents in relations to a settlement visa application.
We have accepted these documents on this occasion however, please note that supporting documents sent to PO Box 3468 WILL NOT be accepted after 31 July 2019. Any documents received after 31 July 2019 WILL NOT be accepted.

Thank you for your response. May I ask what country you mailed yours from?
I know as of July 31 that many Asian countries were no longer to mail their applications to Sheffield but use the VFS centers or upload the documents themselves. As of now this only applies to parts of Asia.

I used the following address:

UK Visa & Immigration Sheffield Premium Service Centre
Settlement Applications - International Operations and Visas
6 Millsands
Vulcan House,
Sheffield,
United Kingdom
S3 8NU

My documents were delivered on a Saturday, so were left in a PO Box.
