ILR Documents return

Would my passport and other documents be returned back to me on the day of UKVCAS appointment or would they keep it? If they keep it, should I give them a pre-paid special delivery pack to ensure that my documents are returned securely to home or do I have collect it on later date from their office? #SET LR

They don't take you originals.
