Long Residence - I have four questions from the online form - Need help with navigating them please.

Post by trawlerme » Sun Aug 25, 2019 8:10 am

I have four questions from the form on which I would like some help please. :?
Seems like land mine questions, answers gathered here can be used against me in case of adverse decision. :(
  1. Time in the UK
    • How long have you lived in the UK? (Required)
      • Year(s)
      • Month(s)
    • I have four absences from UK each lasting nearly 4 weeks. And I am applying 28 days before. Should I deduct the 5 months in total and mention 9 years and 7 months?
  2. Your social, cultural and family ties
    • Do you have any family in your country of birth, nationality or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years?
      • Provide details,
List their names, where they live, how you are related to them, and what type of contact you have with them
        • Yes
        • No
    • I have my dad and a brother back in my country of birth. Just mention their names and location? I am presuming we don't have to mention extended family information here?
  3. Your social, cultural and family ties
    • Do you have any friends in your country of birth, nationality or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years?
      • Provide details,
List their names, where they live, how you are related to them, and what type of contact you have with them
        • Yes
        • No
    • This is the ridiculous question of them all. I can't possibly be expected to list ever single one of them.
I can mention five close friends in UK and not mention anyone from back in my country of birth to avoid a question about ties? Is that an acceptable way to approach this question?

  4. Your social, cultural and family ties
    • Are you part of any social groups or do you have other cultural ties in your country of birth, nationality or any other country where you have lived for more than 5 years?
This could include social networks or connections to any of these countries.
      • Provide details,
List the social networks or connections, where they are located and your involvement with them
        • Yes
        • No
    • This seems like a trap. Social group? I am debating with myself to mention my UK university alumni, cycling groups, local charities and blood donation squad. All in UK in those exact words. Any other suggestions please?

Oh sorry.
Thanks. I understand these are not tricky. I guess the more information I furnish, the more implicating it may become.

You are right, I should aim to provide the bare minimum to get the application moving.

SET (LR) Super Priority - Requesting refund £800

Post by trawlerme » Mon Sep 02, 2019 5:20 pm

The SET (LR) application was made on Friday and biometrics submitted through Sopra Steria Front End Services (FES) on Saturday.

There has been no decision made till now Monday, 17:10.

I have found UKVI Contact centre clearly says,
The contact centre cannot track applications or tell you how long an application will take.

More importantly, the service guidelines for Super Priority service says the following,
If you use the super priority service a decision will be made:
  • ..
  • 2 working days after your UKVCAS appointment if your appointment is at the weekend
Working days are Monday to Friday, not including bank holidays.
Would I be able to request a refund by close of play tomorrow?
Has anyone requested a successful refund?

Topics are merged. Nice.

I would appreciate some insight from anyone who has experience requesting a refund?

Thanks.

https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... r-services
Super priority next working day service
For appointments attended on a Saturday or Sunday, the appointment will be deemed as attended on the next working day. In most cases this will be a Monday but where there is a bank holiday it will be Tuesday. For example, a Saturday appointment will be deemed as attended on Monday and the decision completed and despatched by the end of the next working day.

Nice. Thank you! :)
If you have applied for a super priority next working day or priority 5 working day service we will contact you within the service standard if there is a problem with your application.
As far as I know the application is complete.

Will be pushing for a refund by 17:00 tomorrow.

Ah thanks.

I am more worried about them saying they have to do further checks and leaving me to look glum and wallet lighter for no reason.
