ILR Set (0) - Unique Scenario

Post by Ancestry2ILR » Wed Aug 28, 2019 3:52 pm

Hi everyone,

Hope all is well...and that perhaps someone can comment on my current situation.

I've recently applied for ILR via a Set (0) application - documents delivered via UKVACS on 9th of August 19. My route to ILR is via the Ancestry Visa available to Commonwealth citizens - somewhat uniquely, this is my second Ancestry Visa (so I'm essentially approaching 10 years in the UK).

The reason for a second Ancestry Visa: I applied for IRL in 2015 via a same day appointment at Croydon. Unfortuantely I did not have my Life in the UK pass for that particular application. Having spoken to management on the day, a discretionary decision was made to extend a new 5 year Ancestry Visa, which now runs through until Feb 2020.

My current ILR application has been made outside of the 28 day period linked to my current Ancestry Visa as it was explained in 2015 that I could apply at any stage during this 5 year period.

My question: is my application likely to be approved or denied based on this scenario?

Thank you in advance :|

Not sure what you mean by this. You could have applied at any point since last grant of Ancestry extension if you met the requirements.

Also not sure why you believe your situation is 'unique'. It is not.

Thanks for the response... so to clarify, the 28 day timeframe is not relevant as of the issuing of my second Ancestry Visa?

The 28 days is a concession to apply before reaching the residence requirement OR before visa expiry expiry.
