Hi,
It's been a long time coming but I'm planning to change my surname to my husbands surname after getting my ILR (next month).
I'm Malaysian and my passport, BRP, drivers licence, bank is in my maiden name. Malaysia don't do name changes on passport as the women usually keep their maiden name.
Knowing this, would it be possible to keep my ILR and passport under my maiden name but change my UK drivers licence, NHS record, bank, HMRC etc to my married name?
Does this only need my marriage certificate posted to them with a self declaration or do I need to do this through a deed poll? When I researched it says deed poll is an official name change including passport (British passport).
Also, if we have a child someday I wish to have my married name on my child's birth certificate.
Thanks!
