Meeting the financial requirement £18,600 - question

Post by BritandTex » Sun Sep 01, 2019 5:51 pm

Hi I’m new so apologies if this has already been covered.

Here’s a short outline of current situation:

My husband is Texan and I’m British. We are currently in the process of meeting the financial requirement (myself earning over the £18,600 needed) and he is here in the UK looking after my daughter whilst I work 41 hours a week (earning roughly £19,300).
His six month visit is up on 5th October when he flies back to Texas to apply for his visa to come and live here. By that date (5th October) I’d have worked the full six months and met the financial requirement but when he returns to Texas I don’t have childcare.
I understand that the wait for his application to be approved is about 12 weeks.

So this is my question: Am I then allowed to go back to part time work until he comes back?
Will immigration officers accept that I’ve done my “time” of six months and understand that I have zero chance of childcare for before and after school drop offs?

Many thanks. Hope this gets a reply as I’m stressed out!

You must have earned at least £9300 during the last 6 months with same employer under category A at the time of application. Yes you can start doing part time after submitting the application but in my opinion for safe side you should indicate your plan in additional info section/covering letter so that if the caseworker calls your employer then doesn't find such discrepancy to refuse/delay the application.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
