Switch to FLR(M) from Fiance Visa

Post by curiousmind » Mon Sep 02, 2019 8:27 pm

Hi All

My partner is here in the UK on a fiance visa and we have also recently gotten married.

We are now looking to switch her visa to spouse visa via FLR(M) application.

In doing so, we have a few questions and would really appreciate any guidance.

1) will we need to again provide relationship evidence in the form of chat logs, screenshot conversations and pictures going back a year? (given we just provided and were approved on the fiance visa application)

2) will we need new letters of support from friends family or can we use the same ones we used in the fiance visa application?

3) do we need to meet any cohabitation requirements given she just arrived in the country on fiance visa? (i.e. do we need correspondence documents with letters addressed to her)

4) when should we start the online application? should we get our documents together first or wait until after? (considering we would like to make a priority appointment)

Thank you in advance!

1. no

2. no

3. no rather any recent proof of address/residence addressed in joint/individual name will be fine

4. Whenever your documents are ready and in hand then apply by making sure that your documents not get older than 28 days. Date of online submission of application will be the date of application. Apply before visa expiry.

Thank you very much!

Also, are there any threads or posts that outline the documentation requirements for what we're trying to do (a FLR(M) checklist of sorts)? Or would you be able to provide a high level list of what we need? Since the gov website doesn't go into that much detail..

Appreciate your help.

You are at very right place. Search the same forum and you will find thousands of members experiences with checklist.

Hi all,

We are about to start/submit our FLR (M) application and we've looked over some of the checklists on the forum but we still have the following open questions. We would really appreciate if someone could answer them.

1) For proof of english how old can uk naric letter be? (My wife's is from March 2019)

2) Should we submit a cover letter or sponsorship letter like we did for fiance visa?

3) I have a certified copy of my passport from April 2019 can I upload that or do I need a new certified passport copy?

4) I read that passport photos are no longer required for application is that true? Or do we need to bring them to biometrics appointment/scan them?

5) How many correspondence letters addressed to us do we need considering this is our first time applying for FLR (M) visa?

6) Does it matter if our letters with address don’t have dates on them? (For example: membership to Boots loyalty card, Credit Card successful application letter)

7) Do same say day appointments exist (I heard they do that in Croydon) so we don't have to wait over a month for an appointment?

Appreciate any help you can provide.

Thanks.
