Settled Status vs PR for BC application

Post by seraphin4000 » Thu Jun 20, 2019 6:36 am

I already have a PR card issued after 5 years in UK exercising rights as EU citizen. My PR card was issued in Sept 2018. I intend to apply for BC in Sept 2019. Is there any reason I should bother applying for Settled Status in the mean time?

Many thanks,
Sera

Along with the PR Card, you would have received another letter stating the date you acquired PR. What date is stated there? Also see this thread.

Proof of living in UK for EEA National

Post by seraphin4000 » Tue Sep 03, 2019 9:17 pm

Hi

I'm an EU citizen living and working in UK, with a permanent residence document (received after living in UK for 5 years), and have now completed another one year as a permanent resident. This means I am now eligible to apply for BC, and am busy filling in the online form. I have been employed the entire time. The online instructions for documents I need to provide include the following:

"If you are an EEA National, you need to include letters from employers, educational establishments or other government departments, indicating your presence in the UK during the relevant 3- or 5-year period."

Do I actually need to contact my employers from the past 5 years and get letters from them? Or is there some other documentation I can show - such as payslips?

Many thanks,
Sera
