FLR M extension help

Post by Squoval » Mon Sep 09, 2019 10:30 am

Hello all,

So me and my husband are currently applying for first extension of the FLR M visa.I am the British Citizen and he is from the USA. We've completed the application online, paid for the NHS surcharge and the visa application charge. We didn't realise that the process has changed in such that you have to now book an appointment for at a UKVCAS centre. There were no free appointments so another £100 to the home office ha. Appointment is set for next Monday(16th Sept) as current FLR M expires at the end of the month.

Right were just worried about our bank statements, do they absolutely need to be stamped by the bank? Only because we saw that we were able to upload electronically so we were just going to upload our digital bank statements as opposed to scanning the paper ones we've printed out to UKVCAS? Especially as I have to provide 12 months worth of bank statements. All other documents we have will need to be scanned such as council tax, letters from in employers as they are in paper format which is fine. Are the stamps essential in the process?

Next question, has anyone got any thoughts on the categories on the upload screen on UKVCAS? It's not very obvious where each digital/scanned has to go. I mean some are but it's just another bloody obstacle that we could get wrong, plus after doing a bit a reading this seems very important to get this right otherwise we could be declined our visa. So if anyone has any experience of this, this would help a lot.

This is a very stressful time and we just want it to go as smoothly as possible. We would appreciate any help or advice you could provide. Thank you.
