First name and Middle name switched

While preparing my wife's citizenship application (which we are not going to submit for the time being), I noticed a discrepancy.

In all UK documents, here middle name is placed first and her first name is placed second.

That's the cases in:

- EEA permanent residence card
- Driving license
- Certificate of marriage...
- Birth certificate of our child

Only her non-EEA passport has the names in correct order.

What should I do? My fear is at one point she applies for British passport and then this anomaly will be noticed.

Her non-EEA passport is from an Arab country. This means that often they are read in the wrong direction.

I am thinking about a Deed Poll to change her name and make her middle name a first name officially.

Does it sound ok to do that?

It won't work then Because her home country would never ever change her name on the passport. The law of her country doesn't allow name change.

I can do the opposite then: ask the Home Office to correct her name on their records. I found this page:

But it says "within 10 days".

This error has been ongoing for years and went down to many official documents.

I have another option:

Apply for the Settlement scheme for her. This will allow her to enter again her name on the system. Either they issue the Settlement under the correct name (issue sorted) or we can then go back and point out the error.
