Lost and found BRP URGENT HELP PLS

Post by AS888888 » Thu Sep 12, 2019 4:55 pm

I have recently had my passport and BRP stolen. They have now been found and returned but unfortunately I reported it as lost and has now been cancelled.

My country has no priority service for the BRP replacement visa and I will need at least 3 weeks for the passport to come back. I’m in a dire situation because I may lose my job if I am away for that long.

Is there any chance at all I would be able to convince border officials at Heathrow, along with the recovered BRP and police certificate about the theft, to let me in? This is an absolute nightmare!

Thanking you all In advance.

Your problem first will be even getting onto the plane with out a valid visa proving you have the right to enter the UK.

It’s a valid BRP. It expires in 3 years time. They’re not able to check for validity in airports other than the uk I believe. If they see the card and it’s not expired they should let you on the plane.

Like I mentioned the BRP was lost but has now been found so it’s in my possession.

Boarding on plane wont be an issue unless someone is there who knows the UKVI website where it can be checked online. Also in my opinion it might lead to deception too on grounds that since you knew that its being cancelled & invalid but you still travelled. Why not you check its status at below as what does it say:

Is there any chance that they might sympathize with me and let me in if I explain with a police certificate? After all all I need is the stamp in my passport? I don’t know if anyone had a past experience with this type of scenario. I’m just so desperate.

I feel so dumb for reporting it lost. It’s like I’ve shot myself in the foot.

Have you tried to check the status of your BRP by using the previous link. In my opinion it will extremely a risky manoeuvre and on recalling then there was a case which is little different than you where a person flown from his country to UK on curtailed spouse visa but UKVI sent him back despite airline had let him to board the flight.

Yes I’ve checked it and it’s invalid.
I’ve read some posts which seem to be similar situations where they were interestingly let in, but old BRO was taken at the airport and asked to apply for a new one.

I think no can advise anything other than to re-applying from abroad because maybe anyone's good experience might not work again for other.

Are you aware of a process called Applying for single-entry ‘replacement BRP visa’ to get back to the UK.?

I have found Oxford University advises its students on Tier 4 visa that trying to get back into UK without a valid BRP or a replacement BRP Visa might be risky. Not much information is available pertaining to other visas at least on the public forums.
Could I get back to the UK without getting a replacement BRP visa?
Trying to come back without your BRP or a replacement BRP visa could be risky. If you are a visa national, you may not be able to board a flight to the UK. If you are a non-visa national you could be refused entry at UK Border Control, or admitted but in a different capacity which you would then need to sort out. A non-visa national is a person who would not need a visa if they were coming to the UK for tourism or short term study: https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa. If you do decide to try returning without getting a replacement BRP visa, try to have with you evidence of the theft or loss of your BRP, evidence you have reported to the police and UK Home Office, a Student Enrolment Certificate and a copy of your lost BRP - if you don’t have this, you may be able to get one by emailing your college as they would have scanned it when you first enrolled/last extended your visa (Recognised Students should email student.information@admin.ox.ac.uk for a copy).
