Infant passport application while waiting for BC decision/certificate

Hi all members and moderators,

I have applied for my 4 months old BC registration like 2 months ago. I wanted to know if it is possible to apply for her passport before we get decision on her application or certificate?

In case we have to travel in an emergency, what are other options for us given she does not hold any passport at the moment or any other travel document apart from her birth certificate.

No you cannot as she is not British yet so she cannot get a British passport. Even with certificate of registration, she cannot travel as that is not a travel document. Without a valid visa, a British passport or COE endorsement, she cannot travel back to the UK if she leaves
