MN1 Online Application Query

Our 2 children under 18 fit the criteria of MN1 section 3.5 - I have dual Nationality NZ & BC by descent my husband & children all NZ
We have been living in the UK for just on 3 years - Husband & children here on a spousal visa
Looking to apply for BC for our children only - Can anyone please help with the following

1. Not sure what it means "if we have had settlement in the UK"? We have been here for 3 yrs so I am guessing yes, however this is only on a family spousal visa on the back of my BC

2. Do any of the documents have to be physically sent after scanned through? We have an elderly parent who is ill back in NZ & may need to rush off for a couple of weeks at some point

3. Has anyone have any time lines of when they received their responses based on a bog standard application form
