Registering my child as British citizen query related to travel

Dear All,

I am currently in the process of obtaining my ILR and i have a two year old daughter who was born here in the UK.

I am planning that as soon as i get my ILR, i will apply to register my child as a British citizen.

My question is: when i apply for my child registration, will the HO keep my daughter's home country passport and BRP throughout all the process of the application ? and if they don't, can she travel during that period ?
