Currently working in the UK eligibility for Tier 2 ICT

I have been working with the same company for 7yrs. I had previously worked in our Australian office for 5yrs and have been working for past the 18 months in our UK office on a Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa.

Do I meet the eligibility criteria for Tier 2 ICT as a long term staff member? I suspect because I am currently working the UK office I do not. Can anyone confirm?

You need 12 months of working for sponsor in your home country, and that is the most recent 12 months.

Why not look at Tier 2 General instead of the ICT?

Thought that would be the case but I haven't been able to find it explicitly stated anywhere.

Yes, Tier 2 General Visa looks like the best avenue to explore.

Apply for this visa if you’re transferring into a role that requires you to have had previous experience working for the company.

You’ll need to have worked for your company for more than 12 months, unless they’re going to pay you £73,900 or more a year to work in the UK.
