2 Years or 5 Years Route ???

Post by tangocharlieroger » Wed Sep 25, 2019 10:46 am

Hi!

I was just going through various forums and discussions and noticed that spouse visa can be either 2 years route or 5 years route to Indefinite Leave To Remain.

Although i am 95% sure that my wife is on 5 years route, but is there any way to find out precisely if she is on 2 years or 5 years.
(I have checked the letter that was issued when her passport was given back to her in Islamabad around Mar 2017, there is no mention of 2 years or 5 years).

Just a general information about her current status:

First time submitted finger prints: Islamabad Pakistan on 30 Dec 2016
I submitted documents in Sheffield for Leave to Enter: 05 Jan 2017
Visa Start Date: 27 Feb 2017
She Entered in UK: 18 Mar 2017
Visa Valid Upto: 06 Dec 2019

Can you suggest me if she is on 5 years or 2 years? Any definitive way of finding this out?

(We are preparing for FLR-M, but i just thought if she was in 2 years route, we can go for ILR instead?)

Please help...

There is ONLY the 5 year route FLR(M). The 2 year was stopped on 8th July 2012 and the 5 year route rules started on 9th July 2012. Only a very limited number of members are still on the 2 year route rules, mainly due to their choice or because they have not managed to pass the LIUK test for ILR.

2 years route towards ILR was abolished in 2012. She should be on 5 years of route.
