Moroccan citizen living in spain wanting to move to the UK

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone could help?

My partner is Moroccan but lives and works in Spain. He has lived in Spain for 15years now.
We have been together for a year and I would like for him to come and live with me here in the UK.
He is more than happy to providing he can find work.

So my question is... how can we make this possible? I have read the terms for the work visas and he isn't skilled enough to apply for this.

Is our only other option for us to be married and then providing I have enough money he can then come and work?

Does he hold dual citizenship? Is he Spanish too?

As you are talking about work visa, he probably doesn't hold the Spanish citizenship.

As he spent 15 years in Spain, I think the best route for him would be apply for Spanish citizenship then come to the UK as an EEA national. It's much easier.

If he leaves Spain now, he would lose the benefits of having lived there for 15 years and would have to start from scratch in the UK.

Tier 2 visa is for skilled workers.

Otherwise if yourself work and have a salary of £18600 / year, you can get married and you sponsor him for a spouse visa to the UK.

Also remember that current date of Brexit is 31st October 2019 when UK will leave EU with or without deal. If you can meet the requirement for spouse visa upon marrying then it maybe is a good idea because even he gets Spanish nationality and enters UK as an EU national then still he need to spend 5 years by excercising his treaty rights to get settlement (if that remains same after Brexit).
