IHS Fee

Post by bganuk » Fri Sep 27, 2019 2:04 pm

Hello,

I'm applying for tier 2 general visa on behalf of for my wife right now. I was in the IHS payment step. My COS is for one year from November 2019 to November 2020 and I paid 470 EUROS for myself.

For my wife the IHS fee is 1416 EUROS.

Is the dependent IHS fee always paid for 3 years? Doesn't it matter the length of the COS?

Thanks

If I go to https://www.immigration-health-surcharg ... er/Summary

if I put as we are applying together, I have this:
Your IHS £400.00
Dependant 1 £400.00
Total £800.00

If I put as she is applying alone, I have this:
Based on the information provided we have calculated that your total Immigration Health Surcharge is
£1200.00

I don't know why for her it appeared as 1416 EUR. Does anyone know? What am I doing wrong?

If I put my details in "Are you applying to join or remain with a person already in the UK?" with my IHS reference number and my probable expiration visa (nov 2020) then I get the correct amount for one year, but I don't have a visa yet. There is no how to put my visa expiration date.

This would likely be correct if you are applying at the same time.

If you are both applying together, she isn't applying alone.

That make sense. But I'm not already in the UK and I don't have a visa yet. In this case, should I put my end work date?
We are applying at the same time, but for her aplication there is no option to put start date and end date... We are 4 applying at the same time... it's 3000 euros more expensive and they, most probably, will get the same visa length as I will and I worried that I would lose this extra money.
Thanks

It's applying to join you, or going together and not applying alone

You put your cos start and end date of November 2020. Dependent visa will be granted for the same duration as your visa.

Anything overpaid for IHS can be refunded.
