ILR Acknowledgement

Post by asteramellus » Sat Sep 28, 2019 4:14 pm

Hi,

i went to Sopra to get my photo and biometric taken. The guy scanned my passport and appointment letter and i was free to go. He didn't take any documents from me and he said that the decision is up to 6 months. I asked him when i'm going to receive an acknowledge letter from Home Office to confirm my right to work until they make the decision, he couldn't tell me at all. Can someone advise what is going to happen next ? I'm a bit concern as my BRP is going to expire in 20 days and if they don't receive a letter from HO, my employer might not let me come to work ?

How can i check the status of my application ???

Thank you very much

HO don't send acknowledgement. Presumably you got one when you submitted your online application.

There is also nowhere that you can check the status of your application.

If you applied using standard service, it takes about 8 weeks for a decision.

Your employer can use the right to work check website to check your work rights, which continue under Section 3C of the immigration rules if you submitted an application to HO before visa expiry.

p.s. please refrain from tagging your question onto other members topics.

You must have scanned all your docs on the sopra website and you went to UKVCAS to provide your biometrics and verification of docs. They dont keep any originals.
You are protected under section 3c and your work rights will continue as per your last visa grant till a decision is made.

In most case, it only takes 8 weeks for a decision ? I thought i have to wait until March next year ?

No, it is very rare for applications these days to take 6 months. Standard service is 8 weeks.
