I have a certificate of entitlement to the right of abode in my current passport. I got this on the basis of being a UK citizen. When entering the UK channel from abroad, I usually have not had any problems.
I've notice when flying in to Stansted, the staff do not seem to understand how to process someone with a right of abode at the border.
Last night, I had someone stamp my passport on arrival. A right of abode holder should be free from immigration control so having someone stamp my passport with a UKBA stamp is definitely not right. Should I be concerned? I did not have a chance to say anything before she stamped it.
I have been travelling for many years and this is the first time someone's wrongly stamped my passport on the basis that they do not have an understanding of what it is.
Also, the ROA letter states I can enter the UK channel but everytime I try that, I'm confronted with angry airport staff than man the queue who chase me away due to having a non EU passport.
Just wondering if anyone has had a similiar experience and whether I should be concerned with having a UK entry stamp when I have been travelling in and out for so many years without (rightly) stamping my passport?
