Citizenship Application and UKVCAS timeline

Hello. Not sure if this question has been posted before but my wfe is applying for her British Citizenship soon. My usnderstanding is that the application form has to be completed online. Is the form actually filled out online,or is it filled out in paper form and then scanned to go online? Also, to upload the referee statements that has to be done on the paper form correct? The second half of my query is we want to use the enhanced UKVCAS service. Do we select this service after submitting our application and fees? Could we submit the entire application plus documents at the UKVCAS centre? Maybe I am getting myself confused but it would help to get some guidance on this. Thankyou in advance. Jim

The form is completed ONLINE.

Also, to upload the referee statements that has to be done on the paper form correct?

The online form will ask you for the details and then you download/print them at the end for signature. You then have to upload them.

You select the service as part of the online process and will be directed to their website to make the appointment.

No. You must apply and submit online.

Ok thank you for your replies. For the referees, do they have to be present in order to sign their portion of the application once you've downloaded the application?

No. Simply print it and send to them or take to them to sign. There is some information you will need from them to complete the form.
