NEW BLUE BRITISH PASSPORTS 2019-2020

The New Blue non-EU Electronic Passport would be gradually introduced from late 2019 and full production of Blue non-EU passports would be in place by early 2020.

As with most new passport designs, Blue passports will be phased in gradually.

If you renew your passport between late 2019 (OCT) and early 2020, you’ll be issued with either a Blue or a Burgundy British passport. You will not be able to choose whether you get a Burgundy or a Blue passport during this time.

All British passports issued from early 2020 will be Blue.

We have an existing timeline only topic for passport applications. We do not need another one specific for 'blue passports' or for renewals/replacements etc. A British passport is a British passport and the application process is the same regardless.

It is up to the Moderators to set the rules and guidance for any new TIMELINE ONLY topics we decide are relevant.
