Switching from Tier 2 Gen Dependant to Tier 2 General

Hi All,

I am from India and living in UK on tier 2 gen dependant visa and want to switch to Tier 2 General. I understand that I need to apply for this outside UK. But can i submit the online application from UK and book an appointment in advance for a later date when I will be in India?
