Childs first passport from Overseas.

Post by AMWK » Wed Oct 09, 2019 9:18 pm

Dear All.

I applied first child UK passport on behalf of my daughter who is only 3yrs old born as well as lives abroad.
Firstly they lost the application form which I submitted whilst I was abroad and didn't notify me, and then I was invited to apply again. The second application is still ongoing 6 months and counting...( after nearly 5 months I was summoned to attend face to face interview which I was grateful knowing things are moving on),
Each time I called the HM Passport office I was told they are doing standard check (to be honest what are they actually checking for one year and half? Anyways, Yesterday I learned that all checks are cleared and OK. So I asked how long should I wait for the passport now the check is cleared to which I was informed it needs to be reviews my the case handler. I wonder if anyone else did encounter the similar delay where no one at the HM passport office seems to take responsibility,

Anyways, My question is I need to book a flight and ask time from work so how long will it take once they say all documents checks are cleared?

p.s I did get an apology email half way, tho it is kind of them isn't a passport. I wish they used that time to print the passport so I have my child with me.

Many thanks for all feedback.
