tier 4 to tier 2 switching with a module resit

hello everyone,
i m quiet confused with my situation at the moment. i have been offered a job from a tier 2 sponsored company and they said that we will give you a sponsor letter after your degree completion. however, i have got a resit due to which my degree will get completed in December 2019 which was due to complete in sept 2019. also i have got an unexpected e mail from the university stating that as your resit does not demand to attend any classes and therefore there is no reason to stay in UK and you can submit your research online therefore it is advised to leave uk as soon as possible and they sort of curtail my UK visa.
i just wanted to confirm if i ask my company to give me sponsor letter now on which they can sate that the date of joining at work is somewhere in january 2020 and i can file my visa to switch it from tier 4 to tier 2 on condition that i will complete me degree in next three months. does it seems to be a possible option that i can easily avail?
