A friend came on spouse visa from India and after 2.5 years missed the deadline to extend then had 2 children here in the UK and has been getting visa for 2.5 each time. As her children are British can she then get settlement as a permanent national? Will she be required to have a life in Uk test? As she doesn’t think she’ll be able to pass it. And lastly can she still travel on the status she has now as she is hoping to go to her sisters wedding? Any answers would be helpful

She maybe on 10 years route as parent of British children. Once she will complete her 10 years then she can apply ILR but she will have to pass life in uk test and English language test of B1. Otherwise if she can't pass these then keep carrying on extension on same route. She can travel and return back as long as her visa is still valid.
