Suspension of Super Priority Service for ILR (LR) application

Post by ilrdramas » Wed Oct 23, 2019 10:38 am

Hi all

Hoping people can offer some advice/experience. I'm really confused and set back by this process.

I've been putting together my application for my ILR (long residence 10 years) with an immigration lawyer and he's just informed me that as of 2 October, the super priority service was suspended due to lack of staff/resources. This would mean I would have to go for a standard application and he informs me, I'd be unable to travel outside the UK until the application was processed (3-6 months).

Has anyone encountered this problem with being unable to access the super priority service? Does anyone know if/when it will be resumed?

Has anyone been able to access the super priority service since 2 October?

In people's experience, does the standard application actually take 3-6 months and are there ways to expedite it?

Thanks everyone

Yes many applicants. There are many posts about this issue. No one on the forum can tell you when it will resume.

Yes, some have. Some are getting slots at odd hours but they are few and far between.

Usually 8 weeks. There is no way to expedite the standard service.

Thank you for the reply. Can you direct me to where people have talked about this? How are these people getting the slots - seems like there is a way to beat the system but I don't know how!

It seems like some people have had luck with refreshing / submitting their application after midnight and being able to secure a super priority appointment.

Is this your understanding as well? I'd try anything at this point. My immigration lawyer already submitted my application as a standard app yesterday but I may withdraw that application and reapply after midnight? It sounds crazy but I feel like there's a chance surely.

Its such a relief to be able to get some answers on this so thanks very much!

I don't have experience of the online system so cannot say either way.

You still risk not getting a super priority appointment and note also that super priority quick decision is not guaranteed either.
