Thanks so much for your response. Yes if child would have been born in the U.K. it would have been much easier. Straight British citizenship. Had the child been born in the UK, the child would have been automatically British and could have applied for a British passport directly.

Yes, there is no other visa you can apply for.Just to make it clear that they are planning to get child to the U.K. for first time. So child settlement visa is the one they should go for?
