My partner and myself are planning to lodge our application for Canada immigration soon. We are not too sure about certain things and thought maybe we could get some advice over here.
We are Mauritian citizens and planning to go for further studies in Ireland and submit our application for Canada in the meantime.
I already qualify for skilled worker and my partner will be my dependant.
I have a few concerns as to what happens if we apply when we are not in our home country.
Also, if we are going to Ireland, do we need to get police checks in our country before leaving (so that we have them ready when the immigration office ask for them)? Is there a timing as to when we should get the police checks done?
We also have yet to pass the English and French tests. Can this be done beforehand as well, or are there any time validity to these tests, do they expire etc after a while?
If I am correct, when we apply through the simplified method, we have to wait until they ask us for further documents (i.e certificates etc).
This is basically what I want to know, whether I can get these documents ready beforehand and wait. (Because we might not be able to come back to our home country at the time we'll need the documents.)
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you.
