Changing employer on a tier 2

Hi guys,
I am in the processing of applying for a new Tier 2 visa with a different employer using the priority service.
I understand that under the new process, I will keep my old BRP until I receive my new BRP. During this time, can I travel outside the country using my old BRP? I have not resigned from my current job yet so technically I am still legal to work for my current employer.
Tried to find this information on the Government's website but no luck. Your help would be greatly appreciated! :D
