IHS for Dependant

Post by Antone » Sat Nov 16, 2019 5:42 pm

Hello,

I have been trying to find some answers but I wasn`t successful so far and found this forum while searching, seems that alot of people around here knows alot.

I arrived (with my wife) to the UK three months ago for a job (the company sponsored my visa) and I paid my IHS and paid three years for my wife (because while applying the selection was up-to 3 years) and we both got 1 year visa.

My question is :
Do I get a refund for the money I paid (the extra 2 years) ? should I call them ? is it going to be used for my visa renewal or something ?

Thanks in advance !

cheers,
Antone.

You must have given proper cos end date and calculated one year IHS cost £400.
Refunds might take time. ( I have no experience on this).
Search forum for the mail id to request for refunds.

Yes for me I paid only 400 (which is the duration of COS ) but for my wife I had to pay 1200 which is equivalent to 3 years (I don`t know why).
Thanks for your help I will search for the email.

You’ll get a partial IHS refund if your visa application’s successful but:
  • you get less time on your visa than you asked for
  • any dependants on your visa application are refused
You usually get your refund within 6 weeks of getting a decision on your visa application.
Contact UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) if your refund is not paid within 6 weeks.
