Passport Expiry before switching to T2 Dependent Visa

Post by shan1403 » Mon Nov 18, 2019 10:43 am

Hi All,

I am on Tier 2 General visa since 12/2018. My wife and my kids (inside UK) are switching from T4 to T2 dependent now. Their current (T4) visa is due to expire in 03/2020. I am applying online, however, two of my children passport will expire in 04/2020.

My question is,

Should I apply for the switch and the current expiry is not going to affect in anyway? OR
Should I first renew their passports and then apply for visa switching?

Will highly appreciate a prompt reply please???????????????

They need a valid passport when they apply. There is NO requirement that it must be valid for x number of months.

Tier 2 Dependent Maintenance

Post by shan1403 » Sat Dec 21, 2019 4:52 pm

Dear All,

I have applied online for Tier 2 Dependent Visa switch from T4 Student. Me and my family is living here together since October 2018. I applied for my T2 in December last year and in my CoS it was mentioned that me and my dependent's maintenance will be covered. At that time I didn't manage to apply for my dependents to switch from T4 to T2 because of some finance issues.

I have a letter from my Sponsor stating that they will maintain and accommodate my family for a period of one month, and if this will become necessary then they will make arrangement with me regarding the options of repayment.

Now I want to ask that is this appropriate and sufficient for maintenance requirements? Or do I have to upload CoS (in which it is mentioned that my dependent's maintenance will be covered) in UKVCAS application?

I have appointment in 02 days, therefore appreciate a prompt help please?

Thanks and Cheers :?
