Visitor visa extension

Post by vishnupadakath » Mon Nov 25, 2019 9:15 pm

Hi,

I am living in UK as a tier 2 dependent. My mother got a visitor visa from August 6th 2019 to Feb 6th 2020 and she is planning to come to UK from 12th Dec 2019 to Feb 5th 2020. However I am pregnant now and would like to extend my mother's visa for another 4 months till 1st June 2020. I am planning to use the option to extend visa from UK after she arrives in UK. Will the home office reject my mother's extension visa application because she was already issued a 6 months visa ? Also will the home office require a strong reason to consider for visa extension ? In other words , the fact that me being pregnant ,will be considered a reason for my mother visa extension ? I am planning to get a letter from GP stating that I am pregnant .

Will be really helpful if someone can provide some suggestions/inputs.

Thanks
Priya

Extend your visa
You may be able to extend your visa as long as the total time you spend in the UK is less than 6 months. For example if you apply for a 3 month visa, you can apply to extend it for 3 more months. Read the guidance to find out if you can extend your visa.

You should apply before your current visa expires.

It costs:
£993 to extend this visa
an extra £800 if you use the super priority service
You must also pay £19.20 to have your biometric information (fingerprints and a photo) taken.

Note that your pregnancy would likely not be a compassionate or exceptional circumstance reason for your mother to get an extension of a visitor visa.

In simple words ur mom won't get any visa extenstion and any future visitor application will be refused. Send her back before her visa expires. DO THE RIGHT THNG.

or

Keep her here for a month, send her back and apply new visit visa.

Trust me u r lucky she got the visa. If u try anything like visa extension while she is here, remember ( Its only for people whose countries r in war or a visitor who is about to die). She wont get any extension and any future visitor application will be refused.
