I attended a Biometric appointment on Friday 22nd November but I can still view the documents on the Sopra Steria website and have the option to cancel the appointment I already attended. Is this normal in your experience or should I contact them?

1 What would happen if the referees don't meet the criteria? Will I be asked for another ones or will the application be refused?
2 when can I ask for an update on the progress?
3 do I get an email once the decision is made or is it a letter only?
4 how long would I be able to use my travel document for traveling once I receive the approval letter?
5 do I need to notify them if I started a new job?
6 do all refugees who got there status through courts take longer to get a decision?

No you don't. You only hear from HO if they need anything or once approved/refused. There is no ongoing or regular update from HO for citizenship applications.

Hello guys.
Just want to support all refugees people! Even though as people say some straight forward applications may take over a year, the majority of refugees applicants are being delayed- that is a fact, and I feel it is done in purposes (especially knowing HO treating policy).
I know some people who had some problems (I mean criminal things) in the country ind the past and had their applications approved within weeks. There is definitely something working wrong in the country’s system.
We need to change it and need to push HO to treat refugees normal way, especially after having troubles in our own countries.

There can never be transparency in a system that is designed to exploit people and bring money into the government’s coffers. I am not a refugee, and I cannot imagine the struggle that people with that “tag” go through and I am really sorry that human beings are treated that way. Even working for a big multinational and occupying a senior position, I still get all the condescension from locals when I mention that I need a visa appointment or something of the sort. Just hang in there, do your best and pray. I wish you all the very best in Jesus Name.

I appeared for Biometric on 18th November for my naturalization. The Sopia website still allows me to cancel my appointment, upload documents. I have also need received any communication from them on any acknowledgement or anything else. Any thoughts on whether and when will I receive any communication from them?

Do I also have to submit my proof of residence of the last one year? I only submitted my last one year's council bills. Should this be enough?

Thank you Anambra for the support and understanding. That is total admin cruelty, which is created by the general arrogance. As I said some may said that other type of applicants waits even longer, but unofficial statistics says that refugees are being dumped and humiliated.
I wish I can change something but this massive admin machine is not changeable -and I still try to do something. This admin system machine is working like that for ages.
Also we all pay big money for that and some get within weeks and others have to wait over 6 months - maybe HO can change their price structure then! The longer you wait, the more refund is paid Back - I bet all applications would be processed within a month. Guaranteed.

So im in same as many are - refugee ILR, working as a doctor in NHS. Applied naturlisation on 16/04, and its been more than 7 months still waiting. Dropped email after 6 months to chase,as all of us have done and almost same reply saying sorry, application is till under process.. sent another email few days ago. Being a professional im restricted for travel.
Is there any representative on this forum who can pass our feedback to home office?

We dont work for the home office or have any affiliation or influence etc either with home office. Members are all mostly migrants who have followed various Immigration paths ourselves.

Also there is no restriction on traveling while a citizenship application is pending. Not sure why you believe there is a restriction.

I am aware that Dubai and other Gulf countries will not accept Refugee Travel Document, but i know people who had applied for USA Visa and were successful with the Refugee travel document

I think you can leave the feedback and ususally they enclose the link in the email, when you contact FMT. It starts with - we value your feedback...

I left one but bet they are not read. However, the most efficient way will be leaving the feedback via MP. But again that is not possible until 12 December.

It is clear that country does not professional people at all, unless they are on tier 2. It seems this is the only way tier 2 processed quicker.

About traveling: I appreciate that some countries are not accepting travel documents and this blue travel document like an alarm on borders. But I like to mention that some people have the issues in their own countries (plus families) which need to be resolved. So without a proper document you won’t go anywhere. USA getting visas on travel document - too much hassle and cost the same.

Plus waiting time for travel document - I am not sure how long it takes now, but when I applied it was 6 months. Does it worth to apply for this bluer alert?! Do not think so.

applied on the 23rd of August, been advised by my MP secretary who kindly phoned HO that the application is now allocated to a case workers , this was 3 weeks ago. Emailed them last on the 20th of November , no reply is received yet. same situation and i also work for the NHS. praying everyday that the brown envelope will arrive. Good luck all, it should arrive at some stage. so i hope.

I am also in the same boat, I think all those who got their refugee status through courts their applications are scrutinised more and took more time to be decided. I may be wrong as some simple application have taken ages. But generally refugees got refugee status through court their application took longer to decide. Anyone else who is in the same boat can share their views too.

Hi there this is also my instinct as my status was also decided through court case and one of my friend who was given status straightaway by Home office got their naturalisation after 3 and half months time. I am still waiting for the last 7 months.

I applied naturalisation application in December 2018 just last month I received a letter from home office saying my application raises exceptionally complex issues therefore they need more time to take a decision. I came to uk in 2007 when I was 11 years old. claimed asylum in 2012 when I was 16 and they gave me 5 years leave to remain on humanitarian protection base . Applied for ilr in 2017 that was also approved without any complication. do you guys think I have any chance of approval?? Or they just going to make me wait till 2022 as I complete my legal 10 years in 2022.

I finally got my brown envelope today and my application has been approved. I applied on the 28th of September and enrolled biometrics on the 3rd of October. I must say I have a huge CCJ on my file to the tune of 10,000 pounds and that did not affect the decision.
The journey has taken about 8 weeks from the day of application to approval. I got a letter from my caseworker a couple of weeks ago asking me to supply evidence that I have cleared my VAT debt from 2014. I replied with a letter from the HMRC stating that I never owed them any money. Now, the approval was granted after receiving the letter.
All the best to everyone waiting on their decision. May God be with you all. Reading on this forum has been very helpful. I wish you all the best for the future.
