It is supposed to make things faster. I was told by the EU help desk that each application is seen individually from a queue. So, what I understood is, family members' applications are not seen together. These reference numbers are used to pull up the sponsor detail when each individual application reaches the caseworkers' desk. So, if they see that the sponsor has already been granted settled status, it probably helps the caseworker to allocate settled status to the applicant (if all other conditions are met with some flexibilities).

Hi,
I am a student studying at states school in UK from Sep this year, I applied EUSS on Oct 21 and until now I only received the COA . I submitted the letter which issued by states school to confirm I am living and studying in UK, but I still waiting the Pre-settle confirmation

Hi everyone, I am a Nigerian married to an Italian for two years now, I am also waiting for my settled status, its been over a month now, my application is linked to my husbands application, non of us has received any email, I applied on the 20th September 2019, Biometric 15th October, COA 22nd November, still waiting for the decision....... Its taking so long and am so worried, I need to travel for my twin sisters wedding on the 14th Dec, I have called the HO severally, in fact a lady who attended to me yesterday promised to write a note on my application to my case worker since I really need to travel and my EEA family permit visa is expired. I hope I get it soon

How possible u married to eu partner for 2years and your apply for settled status..qualifying period is 5years..

You will get pre settled status. Each person applying needs at least 5 years residence on the EU route.

It's down to when u become a family member of eu national.which obviously the date of your marriage..

1. did you mention that your family permit had expired and that you would struggle to show that you have the right to work or enter the UK if you go abroad?
2. Did they say they would expedite your case?
3. Did they recommend that you apply to a Residence Card using the EA Route? (My residence card is due to expire next week and I am still waiting for a decision so wondering if I should also apply for permanent residency on the EA route, even though this won't be valid after brexit)

But if you apply for a residence permit at least you might get a COA that would allow you to work? at the moment with the expired family permit I guess you would struggle to proof your right to work/be in the UK.

Working is not my problem, travelling is. I can't enter the UK without a visa and I can't apply for a visa even if I travel because I have already applied for the settlement scheme. They said I cannot even leave the UK until I get a decision.
