surname updated in passport-New BRP?

My wife hold an Indian passport. Her full name (first name + last name) is shown as Given Name in my current passport and SurName field is blank. Her BRP card shows my Full Name on a single line. I believe this is to reflect the name format in my current passport.

Now she is in India and updated passport. New passport Given name: First name and surname as Last name. Did she need new BRP? She is already in India and little worried whether she can cross the UK border.

I just contacted UK home office service line and they told, this is little tricky and it depends the person who is in border.

I’m not sure how to proceed further.

If possible, please respond to thread on urgent basis.

I think you need to fill the online form "Report a change of circumstances" before flying from India.
https://www.gov.uk/change-circumstances-visa-brp

Make sure she has copy of acknowledging email from Home Office. Also carrying the old passport.

Thank you very much for your advice.
Should I inform her employer and any other process? I hope, existing BRP won’t cancel, once we applied for new one as we are doing above steps for updating, replace or transfer BRP details request(BRP request title).

If existing BRP is getting cancelled, it may be issue once she reached in UK boarder.

Thanks a lot for your support.

I have applied in above link and paid £180.

It seems before Feb 2019, my wife want to go to BRP center-UKVCAS) to submit mandatory and supporting docs including new passport.

I have given her, application form print out.

I hope this should help her in UK boarder.

Please let me know if I have to anything else.
