Previous earnings and Maintenance Funds

Post by CraveforUK » Tue Jul 29, 2008 6:04 am

Hi,

I am planning to apply for Tier1 Visa from India.

1. I am planning to show my UK payslip and the UK bank statement
towards previous earnings proof. In this regard, appreciate if
somebody can guide me as to what should be the bank statement
content (if somebody can share any bank statement template is there
that would be fine).

2. Regarding maintenance funds, since i am applying from India, i need to
show 2800 pounds to be present in a Bank in India for the consecutive
three months. In this regard, can i show the Fixed Deposit account
details ? Also, can i show the Public Provident Fund account (PPF)
details ?

I appreciate your quick reply in this regard.

Regards

Ask your bank. They have the best template.
In this regard, can i show the Fixed Deposit account
details ?
There are some cases (on this forum) where people have got their application approved (in India) by showing Fixed deposits. They produced following documents:
1. Deposit certificate
2. Letter from bank that Fixed Deposit is (A) Held for more than 3 months in your name (B) can be immediately en-cashed for so and so value.
However as Fixed Deposits are not in the list of required documents, I advise you to get a confirmation email from British High Commission in your country that they will accept Fixed Deposits. Also attach the print out of this email with your application to minimize chances of rejection.
Also, can i show the Public Provident Fund account (PPF)
details ?
No it is not accepted because of two reasons:
1. Not immediately en-cashable .
2. Not in list of acceptable documents for maintenance.

Thanks for the clarification.

Regarding the previous earning and maintenance fund proof, i have few questions.

Previous earning related:
-----------------------------
1. Does the date on which bank statement was taken matters for visa application ? Basically, i take the UK bank statement in Sept beginning
and go back to India and apply Tier 1 in october. Does the UK bank statement holds good ?

NOTE : The above question is for previous earnings and NOT maintenance fund

2. Is it necessary that the UK bank account be still active during the
time of my application from India ? Because, i am planning to transfer all
my UK earnings from the above UK bank to India bank, before my departure. In this case i have 2 options - keep the account active with
zero/min balance OR close the account

Maintenance fund related :
-----------------------------
I am planning to show my India bank balance as a proof in this regard.

1. Do i need to show the fund (equivalent to 2800 pounds), in a SINGLE
bank ? Because, i have funds distributed across multiple banks. I am planning to take bank statement from each of these banks to add upto 2800. Is this OK ?

2. Do we need to show the proof of source of the bank balance, apart
from the bank statement ? Because i am planning to credit some huge amount now (to satisfy 3 months consistent balance) ?

3. Is it necessary that the bank account should be savings bank account only ? Can i have some amount in Fixed deposit account and some in
savings bank account ?

4. Some of my funds are in an account which has , either my father or wife being a joint account holder. Is this OK ?

Sorry for too many questions. But the answers hep me a lot.

Many thanks and Regards
