Hello,
To be able to apply for ILR from Tier-2 Visa there is a 5 year of residency in UK required.
Now my
Visa issued: 30/03/2015
Entry to UK: 20/04/2015
Valid until: 28/03/2020
I did not left the UK during the time except 1 week in every year.
Basically, I am confused if i am eligible to apply for ILR with above visa at 28/03/2020 minus 28 days = 29/03/2020 or do I have to request to extend the VISA for literally just 2 days.
Is 5 year meaning 1825 days (5*365)? What will happen with leap years (366 days)?
Thanks for your opinions.

You can apply for ilr within 28 days before the 5th anniversary of the initial visa ISSUE date.

thanks a lot for your reply. Could you be more specific.
what would be the 5th anniversary of the initial visa ISSUE date ? 28/03/2020 or 30/03/2020.
Apologies for my silly question but I could not find an exact answer.

If your initial visa was issued on 30/3/2015, then that is the issue date and you can apply for ilr within 28 days before 30/3/2020.

ohh but my Visa is only valid until 28/03/2020...
So I have to extend my current tier-2 visa, just for 2 days, right?

No you don't. Why do you believe you have to apply for an extension when you can apply for ilr on 2 march??

Don't cry as you will still qualify. Simply apply on the last day then book the biometrics on or after the date when you will qualify.

thanks.
would that not result of staying in the UK without a valid visa (overstaying)?
thanks

When you will apply before expiry then section 3C will protect you you from becoming overstayer and if later you will qualify then will be granted ILR.
