Passport expiry date

Post by JJR » Fri Nov 08, 2019 1:56 pm

Thanks for all of your help so far. My husband is applying for a spousal visa this month, however he is worried that by the time it is granted and he is able to fly, his passport will have less than six months before it expires, will this be a problem? It is a New Zealand passport.

There is no requirement that passport should be valid for at least 6 months. It should at least be valid at the time of application and on return from outside the UK.

Spousal Visa sponsor questions

Post by JJR » Wed Dec 18, 2019 9:56 pm

Hi all,

Firstly thank you all for your help so far and festive greetings. My husband has applied for his visa but is now being asked about my IHS number and visa expiry date. I have Indefinite Leave to Remain and before that was on an ancestry visa but before there was an IHS, how should we answer these?

To calculate the correct IHS the applicant need to select applying alone and then give 3 years to the expiry date of your ILR because there is a glitch in the system which can only be handled by this way.

The OP was NOT on a PBS visa, so the 3 year etc does not apply. They held an Ancestry visa.

Which form exactly have you completed and what information did you put in the form about your status? If your husband is joining you for the first time, your Ancestry visa details are irrelevant if you now hold ILR.

He's filled out the form for the visa and now has the form from the Home Office for IHS payment, which has taken his details from the application, but he needs to fill in details about me manually. It has put his visa route as settlement and then asks for my visa route, would settlement be correct for me too?

Ancestry visa detail is not needed now as the op's sponsor now has ILR.

Thank you, the only problem is that ILR is not an option on the in the drop-down list but settlement is - should I select that?
